We recently organized an exciting Inter-House Soft Board Decorating Competition centered around the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)—a set of 17 global objectives created by the United Nations to ensure a better and more sustainable future for all.
The theme of the competition was simple yet profound—each house was tasked with choosing a specific Sustainable Development Goal and showcasing it through creative soft board designs. Students used art, research, and thoughtful messaging to convey the essence of these goals and their importance for our world. Each board became a visual reminder of how the SDGs are directly tied to our lives and futures. The competition wasn’t just about winning; it was about spreading awareness and taking the first step towards change.
Each of our houses—Voyagers, Pioneers, Explorers, Discoverers—put their heart and soul into creating eye-catching and meaningful displays. We were honored to have Dr. Harsa N.M., Principal of Shiva Ayurvedic Medical College and Hospital, as the esteemed judge for this competition. His keen insights and thoughtful evaluation added depth to the event, and we are deeply grateful for his time and expertise.
This competition was more than just a creative challenge—it was a learning experience for all. The Sustainable Development Goals are a call to action for everyone, and through this event, our students were able to connect with these global objectives on a personal level. At SIRS, we believe that young minds are the key to a brighter future. Events like this empower our students to not only understand the challenges the world faces but also inspire them to be part of the solution.
Together, we are shaping a generation that’s ready to embrace and promote the values behind the SDGs—because every small step we take today brings us closer to a more sustainable and equitable future.
